Born and raised in Fort Augustus, Robert Mitchell has built a life rooted in service, leadership, and community. A former MLA from 2007 to 2020, Robert held key cabinet positions including Minister of Health and Minister of Communities, Land and Environment, where he championed policies focused on public health, sustainability, and responsive government.

A lifelong Islander, Robert remains deeply involved in his community through volunteer work with the Parkdale Sherwood Lions Club and other causes. He and his wife Bonnie live in Sherwood and are proud parents and grandparents. As he steps forward to seek the leadership of the Prince Edward Island Liberal Party, Robert brings with him experience, compassion, and a commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive province for all. Robert is for all Islanders.
